I would be most happy to do anything I can to endorse Dr. McBroom. I've had wonderful experiences/outcomes from his work as well as Dr. Rust's and Dr. Green's. In 2000 I was in a very serious auto accident where among other injuries, my right foot was crushed. I had been experiencing horrible pain for years and had a pronounced limp. Dr. Green operated to remove my hardware which had bone growing around it. No orthopaedic surgeon would touch it, but he took a chance on me and I had good results. Unfortunately, arthritis set in and I was again suffering great pain on a daily basis. I also had to rely on strong pain medications to function and to work. Dr. McBroom was careful not to over-promise, but I felt ankle fusion was my only recourse.
I am thrilled to say that after a year and a half, I have absolutely no pain and have no need for pain medication of any sort - not even a Tylenol after 11 years on Lortabs! I recently married and while honeymooning in the Mediterranean, I was able to walk 12-13 miles a day (verified by a pedometer) with no ill effect. I don't even have a slight limp and I can once again wear my beloved high heel shoes!
Not only are the doctors at Atlantic Foot & Ankle kind and compassionate... they truly care about their patients. I have long said that Podiatrists are very under-rated. I don't believe that the general public understands or appreciates their surgical expertise with regard to the foot and ankle regions. My own orthopaedic doctors were unwilling to even try measures to alleviate my pain. Had it not been for someone making a recommendation to try Atlantic Foot & Ankle Associates, I believe my life would have remained in a perpetual state of pain and disability. I will forever be grateful to the doctors at Atlantic Foot & Ankle, and most recently to Dr. McBroom for helping me to get my life back!
Please let me know how I can help to spread the word about the important work done at Atlantic Foot & Ankle Associates.Dee S., Port Orange
